We are one day into the first round of the NHL Playoffs with four games being played on Monday night.

Now, the other half of Game 1's will take place on Tuesday night, including a couple of highly anticipated matchups in the Eastern Conference.

The first of which is the battle of the Hudson River between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils. The Devils will have home ice advantage in the series, but it'll be a short trip on the train for Rangers fans if they want to invade the Prudential Center.

The series is projected to be the closest of all first round matchups, with the Devils set as just slight favorites. They're also just small favorites to win tonight's opening game.

The second game in the East tonight is a rematch of last year's first round matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs have lost seven straight first round series in the NHL Playoffs and haven't advanced to the second round since 2004. They'll try to get the monkey off their back this year against a depleted but dangerous Lightning team that beat them in seven games last season.

Toronto is set as the betting favorite to get the series started off on the right foot tonight.

The two division winners in the Western Conference will start their respective series tonight. The first of which will be the top seed in the conference, the Vegas Golden Knights, taking on the Winnipeg Jets.

Despite this being a 1 vs. 8 series, the odds are relatively close, both to win the series and to win tonight's Game 1. The Jets are set as just slight underdogs.

Finally, tonight's action is capped off with a showdown between the defending Stanley Cup Champions, and a team making it's postseason debut. The Seattle Kraken have made the playoffs in just their second season of existence, but are behind the 8-ball as sizable underdogs to the Colorado Avalanche.

Oddsmakers expect Colorado to get the job done at home tonight.
