The Las Vegas Aces are coming off their worst game of the season, a 38-point loss to the New York Liberty, heading into Tuesday’s matchup with the Dallas Wings.

Las Vegas has only lost three games all season, but one of those losses came to Dallas back on July 7. The Wings won 80-78 at home. The Aces are still a perfect 13-0 at home in 2023, but they’ll have to pick up a road win against the Wings on Tuesday to avoid losing back-to-back contests for the first time this season.

Dallas (15-13) is on a two-game losing streak but still holds the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

The team has some solid offensive firepower between Arike Ogunbowale, Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard, but is that enough to beat the Aces for a second time in 2023?

Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet for this game:

The Aces are 2-1 against the Wings this season, with wins by seven and 13 points.

Oddsmakers have set the spread at eight in this game, and I’m willing to take a shot on the Aces, even though they are just 6-8 against the spread on the road in 2023.

Las Vegas is usually favored by double digits on the road, so this feels like a value line since it is coming off a bad loss.

The Aces have also rebounded well after losing earlier this season:

  • July 9 vs. Lynx: 24-point win
  • June 11 vs. Sky: 13-point win

The Wings are No. 3 in offensive rating this season, but all season long I have been worried about their 3-point shooting (dead last in the league at 30.2 percent).

I think that could come back to bite them against a motivated Aces team on Tuesday night.
