The Florida Panthers announced Thursday that Anthony Duclair has signed to a one-year deal with the team.

According to multiple reports, the contract in the Sunshine State is worth $1.7 million.

Duclair, 25, spent last season in Ottawa, where he scored a career-high 23 goals while adding 17 assists in 66 games.

The former World Junior standout appeared in the NHL All-Star game for the first time in his career this past season.

The Florida Panthers have landed Anthony Duclair

The Panthers will be Duclair’s sixth team, after he spent the first six years of his career with the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Ottawa Senators.

“Anthony is a dynamic and highly skilled player who is capable of being a dependable offensive contributor for our team,” Panthers general manager Bill Zito said in a statement. “He possesses tremendous speed and goal-scoring ability and earned an opportunity to be named an NHL All-Star last season. We’re excited to welcome Anthony and look forward to what he can add to our team.”

The former third-round pick of the Rangers in 2013 has tallied 79 career goals and 162 points in a total of 353 games played.

Reports early in the offseason out of Ottawa indicated that the Senators did in fact offer Duclair a contract, but the native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec saw himself worth more than what the team was proposing.

Duclair joins Patric Hornqvist and Radko Gudas as notable offseason acquisitions made by the Panthers in preparation for the 2020-21 campaign.

Mike Hoffman, Travis Hamonic and Mikael Granlund remain unsigned, unrestricted free agents as the upcoming season approaches.
